Getting Here

From Garden State Parkway South:

  1. Take Exit 98, then take the ramp for I195.  This will bring you onto Route 34 - when you join it, move out one lane to avoid the first exit (for Belmar), then move back in to take the exit for I195 West.
  2. Follow directions from I195 West.

From I195 West:

  1. Take Exit 31B to go north on Route 547 (signed for Farmingdale).  Immediately after the exit there's a light - turn left onto Squankum Yellowbrook Road (Route 524A)
  2. Pass Howell High School on your left (2 miles); continue through the lights; pass Howell Middle School North, also on your left.  Cross West Farms Road (Kirk's Florist is on your right). 
  3. After the intersection with West Farms Road (and ignoring the house angled across the corner), our house (# 653) is the fourth on the left. We have a white mailbox with a green and white reflective number plate, 3 diagonal reflectors in a red/blue/red pattern, and red & white reflective tape on the mailbox.

From I195 East, coming from Jackson:

  1. Take Exit 28 for Route 9 North, and proceed to the lights.
  2. At the light, turn right onto Georgia Tavern Road.
  3. Cross the reservoir (about 1 mile), and continue to the stop sign.  At the stop sign, turn right onto West Farms Road.
  4. Continue to the next stop sign (about 2 miles), and turn left onto Squankum Yellowbrook Road.
  5. Ignoring the house angled across the corner of the intersection, our house (# 653) is the fourth on the left. We have a white mailbox with a green and white reflective number plate, 3 diagonal reflectors in a red/blue/red pattern, and red & white reflective tape on the mailbox.

From Route 33 EXPRESS East (the Route 33 extension):

  1. Take the Fairfield Road/Brickyard Road exit, and turn right onto Fairfield Road.
  2. Follow about 1.5 miles, and at the T-intersection turn left onto Route 524 (Adelphia Farmingdale Road).
  3. Pass Our House Restaurant on your left, then Ardena School on your right.  Then make the second right onto  Squankum Yellowbrook Road (Route 524A) (take it slow around the corner).
  4. Our house is about 0.7 miles on the right.  As you come round a right-hand curve you'll see a reflective yellow crossroad sign in the distance - our driveway is just before that sign - #653.  We have a white mailbox with a green and white reflective number plate, 3 diagonal reflectors in a red/blue/red pattern, and red & white reflective tape on the mailbox.

From Route 34 South, coming from Colt's Neck:

  1. Pass Earl Naval Weapons Station, and at the Route 33/34 merge go over the bridge and stay left to make a U-turn.
  2. Keep left for Route 33 West, and go under the bridge.
  3. At the orange blinking light (maybe 1.5 miles) make a left onto Colts Neck Road.
  4. Continue to the end (approaching center of Farmingdale) and make a right onto West Main Street.
  5. After about 3/4 mile you will pass a restaurant/bar on your right, and a cemetery on your left. Make a left at the end of the cemetery onto West Farms Road.
  6. At the stop sign (Kirk's Florist is on your right) make a right onto Squankum Yellowbrook Road.
  7. Our house (# 653) is the fourth on the left. We have a white mailbox with a green and white reflective number plate, 3 diagonal reflectors in a red/blue/red pattern, and red & white reflective tape on the mailbox.

From Route 18 South (Marlboro/Manalapan area):

  1. Take Route 18 South to Route 537 East, signed for Colt's Neck.
  2. Turn right at the first light (Colt's Neck High School) onto Five Points Road.
  3. Watch for 4-way stop (1.5 miles), go straight across, and continue to the light.
  4. Go straight across at the light, onto Howell Road.
  5. Soon after the railroad crossing turn left onto Vanderveer Road (if you miss it, just keep going - you come to the same road anyway).
  6. At the end, turn left onto Adelphia Farmingdale Road (Route 524).
  7. Watch for an S-curve with Our House Restaurant on the left (1 mile), then pass Ardena School on your right.  Then make the second right onto Squankum Yellowbrook Road (Route 524A) (take it slow around the corner).

From Route 18 South (Eatontown/Ocean area):

  1. Take Route 18 South to Route 138 West, which becomes I195.
  2. Follow the directions for I195 West.

From Route 9 South (north of Howell):

  1. Pass Freehold Raceway, cross the intersection with Route 79, and watch for the Golden Bell Diner on your right.  Take the jug handle (before the gas station and the light) to turn left onto Route 524 East (Elton Adelphia Road).
  2. Pass through lights at Adelphia, watch for an S-curve with Our House Restaurant on the left (2 miles), and pass Ardena School on your right.  Then make the second right onto Squankum Yellowbrook Road (Route 524A) (take it slow around the corner).
  3. From Route 9 North (south of Howell):

  1. Pass Wal-Mart on your left as you enter Howell, and continue past Gold's Gym on your right, then Stop 'n' Shop (used to be Grand Union) on your right.  Cross Aldrich Road, go under the I195 overpass, and make a right at the lights onto Georgia Tavern Road.
  2. Cross the reservoir (about 1 mile), and continue to the stop sign.  At the stop sign, turn right onto West Farms Road.
  3. Continue to the next stop sign (about 2 miles), and turn left onto Squankum Yellowbrook Road.

Parking

If you have to park on the road, please be sure to face in the right direction, pull in as tight as you can, and don't park too close to the corner - cars come pretty fast down our road.  If necessary, you can also park on our small side-lawn, to the right of our driveway.


Going Home

From our house to I195 East, Route 18 (Eatontown) and the Garden State Parkway:

  1. Turn right out of our driveway.
  2. Follow Squankum Yellowbrook Road for 3 miles, to the second set of lights.  Turn right at the lights, and take the ramp onto I195.
  3. If you are heading to Route 18 or the Parkway, you want I195 East.

From our house to I195 West (Jackson):

  1. Follow the directions for Route 9 South.
  2. When you reach the intersection with Route 9 (assuming you came down Georgia Tavern Road), turn left, and the exit for I195 is immediately on your right.

From our house to Route 33 EXPRESS West (the new Route 33 extension):

  1. Turn left out of our driveway.
  2. Turn left at the end of the road, onto Route 524 (Adelphia Farmingdale Road).
  3. Pass Adelphia School on your left, Our House Restaurant on your right.  You will see two schools on your left.  Turn right onto Fairfield Road opposite the entrance to the second school.
  4. Follow Fairfield Road for about 1.5 miles.  Go slow as you approach the light, which is at the intersection to Business Route 33.  You will need to turn left onto Route 33 Express just BEFORE the light.

From our house to Route 9 South:

  1. Turn right out of our driveway.
  2. Take the first right (200 yards) onto West Farms Road.
  3. Take the third left, onto Georgia Tavern Road, and follow it all the way to Route 9.  If you miss the turn, keep going - you come to Route 9 anyway.

From our house to Route 9 North:

  1. Turn left out of our driveway.
  2. Turn left at the end of the road, onto Route 524 (Adelphia Farmingdale Road).
  3. Follow for about 3 miles.  Route 9 is at the second set of lights.

From our house to Route 18 North (Manalapan/Marlboro):

  1. Turn left out of our driveway.
  2. Turn left at the end of the road, onto Route 524 (Adelphia Farmingdale Road).
  3. Pass Ardena School and the restaurant, and after about another mile or so, turn right onto Vanderveer Road.  (If you miss the turn, continue and make the right onto Howell Road).  At the end of Vanderveer, turn right onto Howell Road
  4. At the lights, go straight across.  After about a mile watch for the 4-way Stop, and go straight across.
  5. Continue until you reach the lights, and turn left onto Route 537 West.
  6. The exit for Route 18 North is on your right.

From our house to Route 34 North (Colts Neck/Holmdel):

  1. Turn right out of our driveway.
  2. Take the first left (200 yards) onto West Farms Road.
  3. Turn right at the end, onto Route 524 (Adelphia Farmingdale Road).
  4. Turn left onto Colts Neck Road at the sharp bend in Farmingdale, next to a church on your left.
  5. Go to the end of the road (about 2 miles), and turn right onto Route 33 East.
  6. After 1 to 2 miles, you come to the Route 33/34 merge.  Take the U-turn for Route 34, and bear right once you've made the turn.  If you miss the U-turn, keep going to the circle and come back again.
